September 2, 2015 -- Bruce Osborn and our daughter, Yui --

September started! When you hear the sound “September” you hit upon an image of the autumn, don’t you?

Today’s picture is from recent post on Instagram. Our daughter Yui and Mr. Bruce Osborn, a photographer known by the series of “Oyako” on the day a screening of “Oyako - Present to the Future” was held in Kitakyushu last month. Norihito was so jealous of Bruce because he got friendly with Yui at once, but didn’t fail to capture the moment. Look at this amazing picture!

Bruce and his wife Yoshiko has been working together on their photography life work for more than 30 years. Norihito and I are also working as a team, making one of our goals to be a team like Bruce and Yoshiko. It was precious time to meet and talk with them and I believe that our paths will cross again in the near future.

This autumn, team Mitsunaga will move on to the next stage!

Good morning! It seems like this blog got a steady weekly post in this month finally. That's because I've been in good shape recently after doing not very well for about 17 weeks after childbirth. I'm so happy that I finally recovered.

So, this is today's image. Several days ago Nori showed me an image that is similar to this picture but I couldn't say anything but "oh, it's beautiful". That phrase had no special emotion. Today's image is the image of today because special emotion arose in my heart and soul. What is the difference between two images? I can't explain this, but, I heard a voice. This picture spoke to me.

May 12, 2015 "Fresh Green Rice Field"

I guess it’s been quite long time after we posted an image of landscape last time. Today’s image is a scenery we came across in Munakata city about a year ago. In northern Kyushu the rice planting season has started. It’s the very season we can enjoy seeing fresh green rice fields.

10 months has passed since our family moved in to this area, Kurosaki, from Wakamatsu. Kurosaki is the place where I spend my childhood and I like living in here but sometimes I miss the life in Wakamatsu, especially the rural scenery and fresh local-grown vegetables.*Kurosaki is a kind of urban area, and Wakamatsu is rural area with mountains and ocean.

May 3, 2015 "Our Daughter's 100th Day Celebration"

Good morning from rainy Kitakyushu.

Today's image is our 3-month-old daughter on her 100th day. In Japan we celebrate "Momoka" which stands for 100th day after baby's birth. I first thought of preparing traditional dishes for the celebration but decided not to do anything special but doing photo-shoot.

I like the phrase Nori wrote on his weblog:
"She's got weight and become chubby, and she's much mobile now. Her double chin, squishy legs, and the hairband slid off onto her eyes are telling her story".
One photograph really speaks.

April 30, 2015 "Mr. and Mrs. Osborn"

I can’t believe it’s already the end of April. In Japan a holiday season called Golden Week has started, but of course my husband, Nori, has no plan to have days off… I’m wondering how I and my kids shall spend 5-day vacation without Nori XD!

Today’s image is Mr. Bruce Osborn and his wife. He is photographing OYAKO, which means parents-children in Japanese, for 33 years, and his OYAKO project was made into a movie “OYAKO”. A project of OYAKO photo-shooting and the movie screening in Kitakyushu have been launched recently, and they came to Kitakyushu to meet its project members. Thus Nori came across a chance to photograph this fabulous couple!

Nori occasionally told me about Mr. Osborn and his project, saying “He is really a great photographer!” and showed me movies of his OYAKO photo-shooting on youtube. How nice he could have chance to see him in Kitakyushu! I will absolutely join OYAKO Day with my family for sure!!

Time really flies!! In Japan we say "March runs away" because San-gatsu, which stands for March, sounds like Saru, which means to run away. For me, March DID ran away while taking care of my baby girl.

It started to rain yesterday and it is likely a long spring rain, which scatters the cherry blossoms. The end of March, we managed to enjoy cherry blossoms which were in full bloom! It was really beautiful, and our baby girl, Yui, was looking up at the flowers.

February 26, 2015 "Maternity photo session"

Today's image is one from a maternity photo session about a half year ago.

As this photo is half year ago, the baby is already born and he is 4 months old now smile絵What a beauty the pregnant woman's figure!
We've also did a photoshoot with their baby boy last month, so I'd like to post some of the pics late on.

February 21, 2015 "Wanderer"

February is passing by so fast. And the sound of spring's footsteps is coming closer.
Today's image may be the one that arouse some stories in peoples mind. Me and Nori hit upon the same keyword when thinking of title of this image:

"Wanderer"

Wanderer,

Hi there, how's you been? It's been a while since last update. Today's pic is my first hug to my baby girl on January 6th around 4pm. Yea, I gave birth to my daughter on that day.

My god, I cry every time I see this picture and my husband Nori's words that he posted on that day in his FB wall and his blog. I love these beautiful words.

Here's his words:

The world is wonderful. Sometime it seems worthless, however, it's a wonderful world.
Rainfall in the morning turned into the sunshine,
and the sky showed its beautiful colors
in the very evening when my daughter was born.
Thank you, my wife and my daughter.
This is not very special phrase.
But I simply felt so.
It is very simple, I thank you.

Good afternoon. Today’s image is a scenery we came across in Toho village, Fukuoka pref. The smoke is rising up far behind the houses, there must be a temple or shrine on a small hill. Feel like I’m seeing an original landscape of Japan.

Several days ago me, Nori and our son went to our favorite onsen spot, Tsuetate Onsen (hot spring located in Oguni-cho, Kumamoto). Toho village is at the midpoint between our place and Tsuetate Onsen, so we often take rest at a roadside station and spend some time taking pictures of these beautiful landscapes in this village.
Toho village is not quite known but many of you may have heard of “Koishiwara”, that is famous for its pottery. Koishiwara is in Toho village.

I had a slight pain at lower belly the day before yesterday and I thought “my labor started!”, but the pain disappeared in an hour. I guess the day our new family member born is coming soon, but god only knows exactly when it’ll be. So excited!!

Have a nice Christmas and New Year’s holidays

Good morning :) Time passes so fast... only 10 days left till the year end. And my baby is due within three weeks! This image is shot a few days ago at Iwaya Beach in Wakamatsu, Kitakyushu.

Nori's got a new lens, Biogon T* 2/35 for his Leica M8. He decided to get Leica M8 in order to photograph my baby bump getting bigger and bigger. Now he's got this lens in order to capture our baby girl.

To be honest we’ve had feelings that Leica M8 doesn’t perform well on color photos, but this lens blew off that kind of concern. Look at this beautiful color expressions and rich bright tones!! Nori is really excited with this new partner that enable him to express the brand-new images.

"Bride and groom in autumn light" w/Leica M8

Til a half years ago when Nori started to work for a local photo studio, we used to be working together almost every day and I liked the time watching him editing pics right next to me. Now I can hardly see him shooting and editing.
This image is a shot from a wedding shoot. Been a while since I saw his works last time.
This is taken on Leica M8.

Leica is a type of camera which enable users to take pictures with their sincere heart, every single time with great care to press the shutter button. In other words, Leica is not suitable for such as wedding documentary shoots that usually (esp. in Japan) require to shoot as many cuts as possible with really quick and speedy response. That's why Leica is not usually used by professional wedding/family photographers.

However, in spite of the situation mentioned above, I want photographers to use Leica at the wedding scenes, family events, and so on. If I were a customer, I want photographer to take pictures slowly and sincerely every single shot. Every single moment is very precious.

Leica is the best camera to keep your precious moment in a picture.

Good saturday morning!
My family's weekend starts with an event at the porch waving hands to our family boss, Nori leaving home to his work. (our son recently doesn't join us, just playing with his iPad...)

I'm not sure it's popular only in Japan or worldwide, but I often see "Black and White Challenge" posts with black and white pictures on the Facebook wall. When you are done posting one black and white pic everyday for 5 days, then you are supposed to nominate your friend to do this, and it's going to be passed on and on...

This image is one of the challenge. I thought the chairs in this picture are like, saying "Well well, it's done!!" after their work holding humans gathered sitting on them. I like Nori's taste that he tries to sympathize and grasp how furniture or tools feel, not seeing them just as substances but creatures.

Have a nice weekend ;)

Black and White

Leica has its very unique color expressions, which is sometimes difficult to handle and process. So he occasionally ends up finishing pics black and white, but this time Leica M8 drew really good nuance of colors!

October 25, 2014 "Leica M8 is back home"

Leica M8 is back home last night after its repair that took almost a month.

In the yesterday evening when I just missed to receive Leica delivered few minutes before, Nori immediately called me saying "Hey, I got a mail it has been sent but nobody's at home...". How much he'd been missing Leica!
"Alright alright, I'm calling delivery person and get it today"

This is the one he took last night during his late dinner, couldn't wait till he finish eating and grabbed Leica searching for something he can capture with it. Not really pretty my face in this pic, but yeah, really gentle and beautiful the tone Leica has drawn is.

This morning my husband's face was full of happy smile, with his loving Leica hanging on his neck.
